About
ATELIER SAMUEL QUAGLIOTTO :
Architecture, Research, and Well-being
Atelier Samuel Quagliotto is an architecture and design studio based in Latina and Ficulle, Italy, dedicated to creating spaces that blend compositional rigor with human sensitivity. Our approach is rooted in the belief that architecture must respond intimately and profoundly to the needs of those who inhabit it, through a bespoke design process that integrates light, furnishings, and materials into a single, harmonic organism.
We believe that great architecture arises from constant research: an inquiry that intertwines material innovation with respect for history and tradition. For us, designing means synthesizing the eurythmy of urban space with the intimacy of interior environments, always seeking a balance between the scale of the city and the precision of the detail.
Sustainability and the relationship with the landscape are the pillars of our philosophy. We consider Nature as an active and essential part of the design process, capable of defining regenerative places that foster the physical and psychological well-being of the individual. Our ambition is to promote a holistic architecture that is authentically responsible toward climate change and deeply rooted in its cultural context.
The Atelier is a place of continuous experimentation, where professional practice is nourished by participation in international competitions and collaboration with clients who seek excellence. Every project is a challenge to create solid, timeless buildings capable of generating a positive impact on the territory and on the daily lives of people.
About SAMUEL QUAGLIOTTO
Samuel Quagliotto is an architect and PhD in Architecture, a title earned through an in-depth study of the work of the Danish master Kay Otto Fisker. In 2014, he founded Atelier Samuel Quagliotto with the vision of exploring the balance between functionality and emotion, aiming to dignify the architecture of everyday life.
His architectural vision is deeply rooted in the Japanese and Scandinavian context; a constant research that explores the synthesis between modernity and tradition, with a particular focus on 20th-century Danish design. This academic dedication culminated in 2021 with the publication of the monograph “Kay Otto Fisker – Danish Architect of the Monumentality of the Everyday” (Campisano Editore), a volume that reflects his design philosophy: finding the extraordinary within the simple gesture.
Alongside his professional practice, Samuel has maintained a long-standing commitment to education. At La Sapienza University of Rome, he contributed to the training of new talents as a teaching assistant in Architectural Design courses from 2015 to 2020, and subsequently as a Subject Matter Expert (Cultore della Materia) until 2022. This connection to the academic world ensures that the Atelier’s projects are backed by an evolving theoretical and critical rigor.
Architecture is, by its nature, a collective act. While the Atelier intentionally maintains an intimate scale to ensure bespoke care for every commission, the work was fueled by the talent of numerous collaborators who have contributed since 2014, as well as constant dialogue with craftsmen and technical consultants. Every project is the result of this synergy, sustained by the trust of clients who share a search for excellence and timeless beauty.

Ethos
The architecture of Atelier Samuel Quagliotto stems from a desire to restore a poetic, human, and civil dimension to the act of building. Our work is guided by three core principles that define the ethics and form of every intervention.
Belonging as an Urban Foundation
We believe that architecture is not an isolated object, but a generator of bonds. Designing means cultivating a sense of belonging to a community, creating spaces where citizens can recognize themselves and feel welcomed. We investigate the “human scale” of the city to transform the built environment into a place of collective identity, where the boundary between public space and the domestic sphere becomes a ground for social encounter and exchange.
Human Being and Nature: A Regenerative Balance
We place the well-being of the individual and respect for the ecosystem at the heart of the creative process. Nature is not a decorative element but an active part of the architectural composition, essential for defining places capable of regenerating the senses and the spirit. We pursue a holistic and responsible architecture, where the use of natural materials and bioclimatic solutions is not merely a technical choice, but an act of care toward both humanity and the planet.
Tradition as a Guide to Innovation
We look at history not with nostalgia, but as a repository of wisdom essential for facing the future. Tradition is the common thread that guides our design: we study the cultural and constructive roots of places to translate them into a contemporary language. We seek the “monumentality of the everyday,” convinced that true innovation lies in the ability to dignify simple gestures through the precision of detail and the truth of materials.
